ABOUT US

The Cross at Clay Academy prides itself on being a center pillar of the community. We have school and community pride and love to show that through community events and festivals.

The Cross at Clay Academy was established over 50 years ago and has been providing Christian education and a love for learning ever since. Started out as Clayridge Weekday Education, the founding educators set up a wonderful relationship between the church, the community and the learning center. For over 50 years we have been sharing God's love and a love for learning with generation after generation.

We believe in learning from infancy. Starting in our infant rooms we start introducing vocabulary, music, and sensory skills. Sign language is also introduced in our younger classrooms to help encourage speech and communication. In the 2 year old classes students are introduced to character education as well as learning skills. 2 year olds are introduced to shapes, counting, letter sounds and formation as well as nature and science. In the 3 year old class the skills they have already learned are built upon as they continue to learn sounds and letters, counting and math skills. As 4 year olds the children are introduced to blends, reading, patterns, and rhyming as well as building on their previous skills. â€‹

We use a combination of curriculum and learning techniques including worksheets, assessments, center based learning and learning through play. Children learn through many ways and our learning and teaching techniques are research based and geared towards the child's greatest learning interest.

Child Safety

We value your child's and your family's safety. We will only release your child to individuals that have been pre-approved on your child's check out list and who can provide picture identification. We will not release your child to an individual without a car seat or to someone we feel might have impaired driving ability.

All of our staff are trained in infant and child CPR as well as first aid. We have basic first aid kits in each classroom as well as a comprehensive first aid kit in the main office and foyer. Our staff is well prepared to handle any kind of minor injuries. If we feel that it is beyond our scope of care, we will immediately call as a medical emergency. To expedite the emergency process, an ambulance will be called BEFORE the parent is notified.
